The Armed Forces are not only a free way to earn an education the survival training, and such, are a good thing for anyone to know. You won’t have to be concerned with housing or food, and most times you’ll probably be wearing your military fatigues so you won’t need to spend too much money on clothing. Nor will you have to worry about having your own transportation as that will also be provided for you. The Armed Forces is an admirable choice for anyone. Another way you can obtain your schooling would be to enroll in a technical school in your area. Technical schools are popping up all over the country, and it doesn’t cost nearly as much money to enroll in a technical school as it does to enroll in a college. Because licensing is required in 38 states, there’s a good chance that you’ll need one so make sure your technical school is accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiographic Technology. The school or the State Department of Education in your state should be able to provide you with the information.
Learning the trade in a hands-on setting is always the best place to get the education you need and to hone your skills. A hospital setting is the perfect place for this. It goes without saying that going to a university is also a way to become a technician in ultrasound or x-ray. You could earn your associated degree in as little as two years. You could also opt to continue with your education and get a bachelors degree which may open the door of opportunity in administration or a supervisory position.
If you’re not really into the armed forces and you can’t afford a university education, why not attend a community college. It doesn’t cost nearly as much to go to a community college as it does to go to a university, but don’t let that make you think you won’t get a good education, because you will.
